I only accept one booking for walking per hour, this means that your dog(s) gets my full attention during this time.

No. If the cat or cats cannot stay inside the house for the duration of the booking, I will not accept the booking. The main reason is for the safety of the cat and to make sure I can make sure they are healthy through this time, this particularly applies to cats that need medication. I can't guarantee that cats will come inside the home if the owners are not there and I rather not take any chances. My insurance also won't work in case of an accident outside the animal's home. Beyond my personals experience, it is a fact that some cats fight with other cats, thus spreading disease, others are chased by dogs, many are run over by cars (see the Instagram posts from the Mainz shelter, the majority are of cat corpses) or simply disappear and this causes anguish in many owners. Almost all of these situations could be avoided by simply securing the cat's living space. Last, but not least, as much as I adore cats, they are an invasive and predatory species that can devastate populations of birds, amphibians, small mammals and can introduce sicknesses to wild animals like wild cats and foxes, as well as getting sick themselves. All cats are perfect predators, which makes them super cute in videos of them playing, but terrible for the environment, including urban ones such as Mainz and Wiesbaden.

No. Cats suffer a lot when taken away from their home for a short time and my own cats would get stressed from having a "competitor" in the house.

I work on a “first come, first served” basis. Ideally, contact me as soon as you know you need or might need a pet sitter.   For bookings during german holidays: Please contact me at least four weeks before the start of your holidays. For new clients: Two weeks before the booking (as long as is not during the holidays) is usually enough time to arrange and make the get-to-know-you meeting, which is paramount for dogs and pets. In case either of us doesn’t feel comfortable with each other, it is also enough time for you to find another petsitter.

For new dogs: no. It is very important to me that your pet feels comfortable with me and that I know how he behaves with you, with other dogs and people. It would also be very stressful for your dog to be suddenly alone with a stranger. For new cats ( and animals that stay at home): We must meet at least one day before you the beginning of the service so I know where the house/apartment is and for the key exchange. I only meet with the owners of the cat.

Yes. I have a liability insurance for petsitting, so in the unlikely case something to a person or an object happened during my services, me and your pet are covered. It includes an insurance for keys, in case I lost them or I required a keyservice.

Yes. My company is registered with the Finanzamt and you can actually deduce taxes from petsitting services in Germany.

Yes, of it is longer than a month. It would depend on the time/distance I have to travel and how many visits exactly, but I love to have constant clients. Please write in the contact form or in the booking form how long do you plan to need the service. We can definitely come to an agreement that satisfies both of us.

During the week, yes, in all neighbourhoods. On Saturdays, I only make two visits in the Neustadt, and on Sundays, I only make one visit to all neighbourhoods. The only exception is for cats that need medication on the evening; then, I make two visits to all parts of the city on all days.

Yes. I know how to give medicine to cats and dogs, as well as give to them injections.

I hope I never have to do it due an emergency during a booking. However, if the case presented itself, I would take them (and I always keep the information on your veterinarian of choice, it is one of the important things we talk about during the first meeting). If for some reason, you find yourself unable to take them for a checkup and require assistance, I can take them with a taxi, public transport or with my bike (I have a special backpack for small pets in that case).

No. While I am happy to support your dog’s training by repeating what you’ve taught them, I am not a specialized dog trainer.

Yes, all the images of animals in the website (including backgrounds and symbols for the services) are from pets I have looked after, with the permission of the owner. If I look after your pet, they could be part of the client's gallery, if you allow it.
